It’s odd how I felt like a month flew by while at the same time feeling like forever since I had received my last Colson & Joe box! I guess that’s what happens when you are anxiously awaiting something.
My December box arrived the other day and I was excited to see what was inside for me and my little. I won’t keep you waiting, so let’s dig in!
Nanobebe Flexy Pacifier
It is great that they included pacifiers, and it definitely made me aware of this brand, but unfortunately, my little guy never caught onto a pacifier. Also, this pacifier is designed for newborns, and my babe just turned six months. While everything seems great about them, I can’t really tell you my experience. Fortunately, I have a good friend who is due with her first little one in a couple months, so I am able to gift these to her.
Brilliant Oral Care Baby’s First Toothbrush
Now this is a keeper! My boy is at the age where EVERYTHING goes in his mouth and he is chomping away. Teeth have yet to pop up, but he has to be in the ballpark of teething. This design is something I haven’t seen before and seems like it would do some good scrubbing while baby is gnawing away on it. It’s also a great size for babe’s hands and a super soft silicone. I love that you’re able to toss this in the freezer for an added chill to relieve some achy gums during teething. I was introduced to a new brand that I am interested in learning more about.
Rawr Naturals Milk Drunk Protein Powder
I was pleasantly surprised by finding a pouch of breastfeeding-safe protein powder. I am trying to be more mindful of my diet and getting healthier is a goal for 2019. The problem with breastfeeding and supplements is you have to be aware of the ingredients. And the truth is, a lot of protein powder is a bunch of chemicals and stuff you can’t pronounce. This product removes that worry. Now, I’ve had vegan protein powder before and it’s definitely an acquired taste. Chalky is a good way to describe it. Nonetheless, I was excited to try this. Mornings are chaotic for me as I’m always in a mad rush to get the kids and myself ready and out the door at a decent time. I rarely have time to grab a bite to eat in the morning, which is so necessary.
This protein powder was perfect for my busy morning. I tossed it in a shaker cup with some almond milk and BAM! breakfast. I’m normally not a fan of strawberry flavored food, but this was surprisingly good. It’s definitely not a strawberry milkshake, but it was drinkable. I am actually interested in checking out more of their protein and possibly making it a staple of my diet.
Hyperbiotics Immune Daily Wellness Supplements
It’s funny because I was literally thinking to myself recently that I need to up my Vitamin C and Zinc intake since we are heading into the colder months. Colds have been making the rounds at our house and I have been fortunate to stave off catching the crud so far. But I want to keep my immune system as battle-ready as possible, so I’m happy to have a little boost.
Organic feminine hygiene products are a big thing lately, and definitely something I appreciate. Women should care about what we put in and next to our bodies, and pads and tampons are no exception. Developed by women for women is how it should be when it comes to female bodies, and I love the cause and mission of this company. While you can pick up these products at your local Target, they do offer a subscription option, which, come on, is ideal. Never having to worry about having to grab a box of pads again because they are delivered straight to your door is one less thing to worry about as a busy mom.
Mommy Knows Best Cold or Hot Breast Therapy Pads
I like to call these Bosom Buddies. This is something I believe every breastfeeding mom needs to have. When engorgement hit, the cool pack was a lifesaver. And when I had mastitis, the heat provided some welcomed relief. I love that these pads come with a comfy sleeve so you are not putting the pad directly on your skin or finding something else to wrap it in. Two pads and covers for $19.99 is a good price for something so incredibly useful.
MAMMAWAY Freeze It Flat Bags
I’m not going to lie, I was ecstatic to find one of these in my box! I was first introduced to these after I visited Mammaway’s site last month and was immediately intrigued. Freezer space is hot real estate, and I love how you’re able to freeze four bags at once in a very small space. The one that was included in the box was just a trial size, meaning you can only freeze one bag at a time. But I’m impressed. If you are a pumping mom who freezes batches of milk every day, I would say this would be well worth the investment of $39.
The Final Review
Overall, again, good products for what you pay ($30/month+shipping). The crafts and breastfeeding tips included are a nice bonus. What I’m finding is that this subscription is turning me onto a lot of brands that I never knew existed before. Are you going to love everything in your box or purchase more of it? Maybe not, but that’s what you should expect with a subscription box. You never know what you’re going to get, and some products may work for you and some won’t. One thing I wish they did was gear the box maybe a little more toward the age of my baby. For example, the pacifiers in this shipment were 0-3 month. Even if my son took a paci, this would be too small for him. I’m happy that I have a friend who may be able to get some use out of these.
That said, I think this is a great concept for newly breastfeeding moms. For moms on maternity leave or staying home with baby, a monthly box of goodies and support is something to look forward to. I think this would make an excellent gift if you know an expecting or new momma. Click HERE if you’re ready to check it out for yourself!
*Disclaimer: I received my Colson & Joe box at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. That said, these thoughts and words are my own. By purchasing from my referral link, I receive a discount on my own box subscription.
